Painful Patterns

Updated: Mar 17, 2022

Picture this: You have been in a pattern of pain for so long, then, finally the cup runneth over.

You reach for a pain pill; google what your low back pain means. You may find a scientific latin term as your self-diagnosis, then you fear the worst, maybe it's a slip disc. You feel reduced to wearing a back brace, getting a steroid shot, or just taking pain meds forever. In a span of seconds, you went from back pain to being reduced by google that surgery is your only option.

...So, what's next? You check to see if there is a holistic approach, or at least something that gives a sense of positivity to all this googled bad news.

Now things get weird; chiropractic, vitamen therapy, reiki, acupuncture, massage, rolfing, yoga and even colonics all say they have 'cured' all forms of pain instantaneuosly. With a plentheria of positive testimonials from all different sites, you have no idea which miracle to try first...so you try none.

Reading further you find that the financial investment is too large, not covered by insurance (except chiropractors), or the time commitment is not something you have the energy to work into your schedule right now.

A pain pill fits into your schedule just right.

In our day and age, Instantaneous change is a great marketing tact, yet, you've been in pain for so long and expect to be out of pain immediately? I have seen it happen. But often the journey to health, is a journey, not a pill, not one choice, but a series of choices, that gives relief.

A holistic approach, takes a holistic amount of time.

Pain is not a bad thing. It's the start of a major transformation. It's telling you that what you have been doing is not working. You need to choose your self in a mightier way.

Pain desires to be addressed, just like thirst, it needs to be quenched.

As a Rolfer®, this is the perfect time to plug the work and tell you that this is your only hope.

NO.

Start with a modality that feels right. Call up the practitioner and have a talk to see if you feel safe.
